Over 3,300 Donors Make a Difference Through Day of Giving

More than 3,300 alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff and friends came together yesterday to give a record $1.7 million to Dickinson on Day of Giving. The community not only exceeded the day’s goal of 3,000 donors on a single day but also completed more than a dozen challenges established by generous donors to support everything from scholarships and athletics to access & disability services.

With over 600 donors making a gift toward scholarships at Dickinson, the college successfully completed the Sam Rose ’58 Change a Life Challenge. Last year, Rose pledged to match the next $10 million given toward scholarships. Before the Day of Giving, the Dickinson community had come within $50,000 of that goal, and yesterday, they far exceeded it. Thanks to this effort, Dickinson has also completed the $75 million scholarship campaign launched in 2021. Stay tuned in the coming months for further news on this and the transformational impact it will have on Dickinson and our students.

In addition to Rose’s challenge, young alumni donors rallied behind reunion challenges, and matching gift challenges for several men’s and women’s sports, the Women’s & Gender Resource Center, the Dickinson Fund, faculty development, and much more.
