If you’ve ever been at a game at Biddle Field and thought that the scoreboard looks a little … dated, we’ve got some good news: An ambitious and transformative project kicks off Monday, Nov. 18, to elevate gameday experiences at Dickinson's centerpiece!
This initiative will replace the current scoreboard with a modern 18' x 32' LED video board, enhancing not only the visual appeal but also the functionality of the facility for our football, men's and women's lacrosse, and track and field teams.
“This project is a real symbol of Dickinson’s commitment to the student-athlete experience and the overall enhancement of our gameday atmosphere for fans,” says Celine Cunningham, director of athletics. “This investment will elevate the excitement and engagement for our teams, creating an environment that matches the dedication and performance of our athletes.”
The new scoreboard—which is expected to be fully installed in February, just in time for the spring sports season—will include high-quality visuals, an enhanced audio experience and video features that will allow for player highlights and other dynamic content.
One of the best parts about the project is that it's being entirely funded by donors. "We're so grateful for the generosity and leadership from donors who've raised all of the funding for this project," says Carlo Robustelli, vice president of college advancement. "This truly shows how dedicated our alumni and family are to supporting and enhancing the student-athlete experience at Dickinson."
In the end, the project isn't just about new equipment; it's an investment in the athletics experience for the entire Red Devil fanbase.
“It's a significant step forward in fostering school spirit and creating memorable moments for our community,” says President John E. Jones III ’77, P'11. “And it reflects our ongoing dedication to excellence in our great teams and athletics program as a whole."
