How has Dickinson prepared you for life after graduation?
Working with Associate Professor of Biology Michael Roberts on the genetic mechanisms of acute myeloid leukemia has prepared me to better understand how cancer works on a molecular level. Student-faculty research at Dickinson has been a large part of my experience, allowing me to learn in a hands-on manner and connect with professionals in the field at the annual AACR meeting, where we present our research.

How has Dickinson prepared you for life after graduation?
My Dickinson education, specifically the opportunity to conduct research early, has been critical in applying to graduate school. I spearheaded a research project headed for publication, and I couldn't have done that at many other colleges. Additionally, I've had the opportunity to be involved as a tour guide and student interviewer with admissions, chair of MOB, the QR Center, library student supervisor and Greek life. I was able to be part of these experiences while at the same time focusing on academics, and I am thankful for Dickinson for this.

How has Dickinson prepared you for life after graduation?
Dickinson has allowed me to do things that I would have never thought I would be able to do. I came to Dickinson as a shy, not very confident person. I am now leaving Dickinson having been involved in many different leadership roles, presenting my research and having made connections that I know I can come back to if I ever need help in any way. I think that I have gotten a good background in topics that I hope to learn more about during my master's and other future endeavors.
Internship Experience
