Dickinson Shines With STARS Gold Sustainability Rating

The college's commitment to sustainability draws notice once again

Dickinson is proud to announce that it has received a STARS Gold (Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System) rating from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE).

With more than 1,200 participants in 52 countries, AASHE’s STARS program is the most widely recognized framework in the world for publicly reporting comprehensive information related to a college or university’s sustainability performance. Participants report achievements in five overall areas:

  • Academics
  • Engagement
  • Operations
  • Planning and administration
  • Innovation and leadership

In October, Dickinson earned the among baccalaureate institutions in AASHE’s Sustainable Campus Index, marking the sixth consecutive year that Dickinson has been recognized as a top performer. In addition to remaining in the No. 1 spot in the Overall Top Performer category, Dickinson earned the No. 2 place in the air & climate category with a perfect score of 100%.
