Designation by Campus Vote Project and NASPA for promoting political engagement follows recognition in previous years

Dickinson has been recognized as a for its 2023-24 campaign.

A collaboration between the Campus Vote Project and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), this initiative is designed to recognize campuses that excel in bringing community members to the polls. The mission of the Voter Friendly Campus designation is to bolster colleges’ and universities’ efforts to help students overcome barriers to participating in the political process—every year, not just during years featuring federal elections.

This award would not have been possible without the work of Dickinson Votes, a group that encourages all eligible Dickinsonians to vote in Carlisle through registration drives, educational presentations and outreach. Rachel Pistol '25 (psychology, educational studies), the group’s student voter engagement coordinator, noted, “It’s been a few years in the making, but this year in particular an especially dedicated team of students, faculty and staff made it possible.”

The Dickinson community is no stranger to awards for voter engagement. In 2021, the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge named Dickinson winners of their Highest Voter Registration and Highest Voter Turnout contests.
