Dickinson announces and celebrates Regular Decision admissions notification for the class of 2019

Dickinson continues to demonstrate its increased selectivity, as measured by the admit rate and the strength of the academic profile of the admitted pool for the class of 2019. An impressive 6,028 applications were received, making this the second-highest number of applications received in the college’s history and another year with an incredibly strong and diverse applicant pool.
Dickinson's global reach is apparent, as admitted students reflect 41 U.S. states and territories and the District of Columbia and citizens from 78 countries. This is a very diverse admitted class, with 17.5 percent students of color and 11.7 percent international citizens. Additionally, 7.4 percent represent legacy connections, and 306 students were accepted through one of two binding, first choice Early Decision programs.
"The admissions staff has done another amazing job selecting such a bright and talented class in such a competitive applicant pool," said Catherine McDonald Davenport ’87, dean of admissions. "Our community is eager to welcome the class of 2019, and many events are planned both on and off campus. This is truly a moment to celebrate and congratulate our future Dickinsonians."
Accepted students and their families will connect with the college at a number of on- and off-campus events that offer opportunities to meet classmates, network with alumni and engage with faculty and administrators. On-campus opportunities include the Admitted Student Preview Day on April 18 and Made-to-Order Days on April 1, 8 and 15. (Registration is available through the .)
