David O'Connell, Assistant Professor of Political Science has been named the 2018 recipient of Dickinson’s Constance & Rose Ganoe Memorial Award for Inspirational Teaching during Commencement on May 20, 2018. Awarded annually to a professor at the college who, through secret ballot by the members of the senior class, is considered to be an inspirational teacher.  The Ganoe award winner receives a cash honorarium plus the opportunity to use funds to purchase books for the library or educational equipment for departmental or college-wide purposes.

Kathleen Marchetti, Assistant Professor of Political Science, was invited to write a blog version of her September State and Local Government Review article Consider the Context: How State Policy Environments Shape Interest Group Advocacy for the . 

David O'Connell, Assistant Professor of Political Science, recently recorded a netcast on to explain "how the use of religious rhetoric by president's most commonly fails to help them achieve their goals." David uses "historical case studies as well as an original experiment" to show his findings in his book titled God Wills It: Presidents and the Political Use of Religion.

Douglas T. Stuart, Professor of Political Science and International Studies, received a $400,000 Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Grant to "Expand the Collaborative Initiative Between Liberal Arts Colleges and Military Institutions of Higher Education. The grant will extend over a three-year period and will be used to sustain and institutionalize academic cooperation between selected liberal arts college and their nearby military institutions of higher education. This initiative will expand upon the work begun under the Mellon Foundation Grant awarded to Dickinson in 2011.

Professor J. Mark Ruhl, Professor of Political Science, received the Constance and Rose Ganoe Memorial Award for Inspirational Teaching during Dickinson's Commencement on May 19, 2013. Awarded annually to a professor at the college who, through secret ballot by the members of the senior class, is considered to be an inspirational teacher. The award includes an honorarium which allows the faculty member to use these funds to support teaching and research interests.

Priscilla Laws and David Jackson, Physics & Astronomy; Jim Hoefler, Political Science, were recipients of a Grant from the National Science Foundation ($370,282)--Transforming Undergraduate Education in STEM Program (TUES). " This is a collaborative project with Rochester Institute of Technology.

ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app was a recipient of a $50,000 Grant from the Luce Foundation to encourage faculty and students from various disciplines to study environmental issues in Asia. Neil Diamant, Professor of Political Science and East Asian Studies, was the project director.

Professor Russell Bova, recipient of the 2011 Constance and Rose Ganoe Memorial Award. The Ganoe Award for inspirational teaching is presented annually to a ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app faculty member selected by the senior class members through secret ballot. The award includes an honorarium which allows the faculty member to use these funds to support teaching and research interests.
