Anne Fisher-Henson, Political Science Major and Certificate in Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Anne Fisher-Henson ‘24 is a political science major, with a certificate in social innovation and entrepreneurship. Originally from McVeytown, Pennsylvania, Anne has focused her studies on rural community development. This has provided her the opportunity to pursue multiple independent courses spanning the interdisciplinary topics of small business, state and local government, and rural sociology. Guided by a firm belief in the strength of local resources, she has also supplemented her coursework with experiential opportunities throughout central Pennsylvania. These have included two previous internships at the Juniata River Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Newville Economic Development Authority. In addition, she serves as the Carlisle Borough Student Ambassador.
Aside from her academic pursuits, Anne holds a leadership role in the Dickinson Christian Fellowship and enjoys volunteering at the Rothrock Community Library. She is honored to be a 2022 Baird Sustainability Fellow and looks forward to applying what she has learned in the practicum to her work in rural communities.
