Willow is an Environmental Science major from Sudbury, Massachusetts. During her time at Dickinson she has served as the Carbon Neutrality Coordinator at The Center for Sustainability Education, as a First Year Mentor and as a Teacher’s Assistant in the Environmental Science Department, amongst other roles.
Willow’s studies have given her the opportunity to explore sustainability through both interdisciplinary and international perspectives. She is passionate about examining how governance, local culture and historical context intersect with all facets of sustainability; social, environmental and economic. In the fall of her sophomore year Willow participated in a mosaic program, Climate Change and Human Security in Nepal. The following spring, she completed an independent research study, utilizing the data her team collected in Nepal. In the fall of her junior year, she spent a semester abroad in Copenhagen. This unique mix of educational experiences have supplemented her coursework and given her a variety of lenses to analyze environmental issues and to develop creative solutions to complex problems.
Willow is excited to work with the other Baird Fellows to implement measures to create an innovative campus community, leading in sustainability. She is excited to bring what she has learned at Dickinson to a career in sustainability work. Willow is exploring career paths in environmental consulting, government and corporate social responsibility in the Boston area.
