Amanda Brangwynne '18
Amanda Brangwynne is a senior at ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app pursuing an Environmental Studies and Policy Management double major. She grew up in eastern Massachusetts but decided to come to Dickinson because the school showed an ambitious commitment to sustainability. Outside of the classroom, Amanda is the Eco-Reps Coordinator student intern at the Center for Sustainability Education, a position she has held for two semesters now, and she is a regular volunteer at the Handlebar Bike Co-op In Spring 2017, Amanda studied abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark where she learned about Danish government and environmental policy.
In the summers, Amanda has returned to Massachusetts to intern in Boston. She has worked for the Massachusetts Sierra Club, focusing on local legislation and the state’s commitment to fighting climate change. Last summer, she interned in the press offices at the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, developing social media pages for the agency and expanding her knowledge about environmental issues in her home state. Amanda has been exploring career opportunities in the field of environmental policy and hopes to work for a state-level agency or nonprofit. Amanda is excited and honored to participate in the Baird Colloquium, engage with her peers, and gain a deeper understanding of sustainability and its connections to other disciplines.
