Sam Pollan, Environmental Studies Major
Sam Pollan '14
Sam Pollan is an Environmental Studies major who has worked with a variety of sustainability-oriented organizations on campus. Apart from residing in the Center for Sustainable Living, Sam also works at the Center for Sustainability Education as the Climate Action Plan intern responsible for assisting in the collection of Dickinson’s greenhouse gas inventory and communicating sustainability efforts with the campus. In the Spring, Sam will be developing a sustainable living guide for Dickinson employees in order to bring the culture of sustainability found on campus into the community. Throughout his studies, Sam has come to define sustainability in a holistic sense that encompasses social, economic, and environmental factors. As a Baird Sustainability Fellow Candidate, he is most excited about getting to converse and collaborate with some of the most innovative and passionate students on campus and examine how to incorporate all three factors of sustainability into the mainstream dialogue.
