Sarah Ganong, English Major & Biology Minor
Sarah Ganong '13
Sarah Ganong is a senior English major and biology minor. Her research interests center around environmental communication, specifically concerning climate change. For the scholarship piece of the colloquium, as well as her senior thesis, she will be examining perceptions of non-fiction climate change narratives, written by scientists for a wider public audience. This intersection of textual and environmental concerns fascinates Sarah and she is excited to begin this work as a Baird Candidate. Sarah is looking forward to engaging in conversation with some of Dickinson's sustainability leaders in the classroom each week, along with working with Bill McKibben, an amazing environmental writer and activist. From her experiences at Dickinson, Sarah's understanding of sustainability has evolved to encompass ideas far beyond only environmental concerns, to encourage making thoughtful decisions towards the environment and society in every aspect of one's life.
