Library Cards

Students, Faculty, Staff and Administration

May borrow items with their college photo ID (issued at the Dining Services office).

  • The library maintains the privacy of our borrowers in compliance with federal/state laws and professional standards.  We maintain strict confidentiality and will not reveal the personal transactions of our users unless mandated by state or federal law.
  • Circulation history and user records will be purged from the library’s management system, 6 months after leaving the college.  We will retain a print billing record for 7 years after billing date.

Alumni

Dickinson alumni should bring their ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app ID (obtained from the college's ID office) to the main Circulation Desk. A library staff supervisor will assist you with registration for a one year borrowing privilege.

ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app Family Members

The family member who works at Dickinson must send an e-mail to the Circulation Desk at circ@dickinson.edu with the names of his/her partner and/or dependent children. The family member can then register to borrow at the library Circulation Desk between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. A library staff supervisor will assist you with registration for a one year borrowing privilege.

Consortia Faculty and Students (ACLCP, Oberlin Group, PALCI)

A member of a college/university community, who is currently registered or employed at an ACLCP, Oberlin Group, or PALCI member school, may borrow materials from the library. The prospective patron may register for an account at the Circulation Desk by presenting a valid photo school identification card (a college ID without photo will be accepted if accompanied by a photo driver’s license). Oberlin and PALCI consortia members will be required to submit a completed authorization form from their home library.  The registration will expire May 1 of the year of registration.

Area High School Students

The high school librarian provides students who wish to use Dickinson’s library with an authorization form properly completed with the student’s name, high school and the one month borrowing period for which the card is valid. The form must be signed by the librarian, verifying the high school’s agreement to accept responsibility for that student. The high school student must present the request card at the ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app library circulation desk when they wish to check out an item. The request card is not returned to the student, but is retained by Dickinson for our records. The student will be issued a bar coded library card which will expire one month from registration date.

Pennsylvania Residents

Courtesy borrowing privileges are available for an annual fee of $25 to adult Pennsylvania residents with a valid photo ID. Privileges expire one year from registration date.
