Purpose of Travel Health Clinic
The Travel Health Clinic is designed to provide preventive measures to minimize the risk of illness while students are studying abroad.
Services We Provide
(1) Extensive travel/medical history to assess individual risk with the goal of minimizing that risk.
(2) Provide pre-travel consultation regarding the geographical areas that the student will visit.
(3) Provide recommendations and administration of drugs and/or vaccine for the areas of travel.
(4) Provider travel health education material to the student.
(5) Offer post-travel consultation and survey to the student with the purpose of improving our travel health services program in the future.
Cost
Travel Health Consultation (1 hr) - $50.00
All services listed above are included in the Travel Health Consultation with the exception of the cost for travel medications/vaccine.
Travel Health Medications/Vaccine cost varies by vaccine and will be discussed at the time of appointment.
Health Insurance
Most health insurance companies do not cover the cost of travel health services, but students should check with their insurance company in advance of their scheduled appointment. We can provide an itemized receipt for the student to submit to their insurance company for reimbursement if services are covered.
Requirements for Travel Health Consultation
An appointment is necessary - appointments can be scheduled by calling the Wellness Center @ 717-245-1663.
Patient Health History Questionnaire - the travel health history form will be available on the Patient Portal for the student to complete in advance once the appointment is scheduled. The form must be completed at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. If it is not completed, the appointment will need to be cancelled and a missed appointment fee will be assessed.
Provider Forms - if the student has any provider forms that need to be completed, they should bring along to their scheduled appointment.
